The role of Senior Account Manager is focused on independent client and account oversight.  The SAM is expected to work closely between line management and direct reports to ensure best in class delivery.  The SAM is also expected to share valuable sector and strategic communications advice based on our integrated agency approach and have a growing network to uncover new business opportunities.  In this particular role, there is an important emphasis on B2B marcomms, and therefore candidates need to have both experience and a passion for supporting clients in the B2B space in diverse sectors that include technology, logistics, professional services, healthcare, engineering, property, and media.

 

In addition to having significant earned media relationships to leverage on behalf of clients, the SAM must also have a working knowledge of the broader marketing stack across paid, shared and owned media too.  Working closely with colleagues on the marketing services team (MIT), the SAM is required to look at opportunities and challenges through a single-minded integrated approach with earned at the core.

Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                                                                                                 

 EARNED FIRST INTEGRATED COMMUNICATIONS

The PR team and the Marketing Innovation Team, (MIT) are being brought together to align around our strategic go to market positioning as an integrated communications agency with an earned first approach.  

 

  • Functions as the primary support for the director/VP/SVP
  • Deep strategic knowledge of the B2B space
  • Compared to an AM, an SAM is capable of overseeing a larger number of accounts or clients with larger budgets
  • Identifies and secures new business, including growth of existing accounts

  • Drafts comprehensive client and new-business plans

  • Actively participates in or leads the development of new-business pitch preparation and presentations
  • Seen as a senior strategist by the client
  • Is capable of leading client meetings and presentations without a more senior colleague
  • Monitors account profitability
  • Oversees account staff in the successful management of their respective accounts
  • Empowers account staff to refine professional skills, including identifying specific areas for improvement
  • Writes and edits client materials and has an excellent knowledge of media and influencer engagement
  • Actively builds firm visibility through networking opportunities
  • Actively leads an agency committee and or team development programme
  • Demonstrates industry-specific expertise
  • Promotes and upholds companies core values
  • Bills 110-130 hours of client work per month

 Qualifications                                                                                                                                                          

  • Must have managerial experience in a communications function such as public relations, media relations, journalism, corporate communications or with a relevant marketing services agency
  • Has exceptional media contacts and as well as key influencer relationships
  • Exemplary follow-through and execution skills

  • Solution-minded, embraces new methodologies
  • Strong writer with excellent presentation skills
  • Thinks strategically

In order to be successful in this role they are looking for someone with a proven track record in developing client and media/influencer relationships as well as a good sense of team management. You need to be commercially minded in terms of both client service and new business development.

You will work across several internal and external stakeholders to drive process, ideas and build strong relationships. You will need exceptional communication skills as well as the ability to understand and support both agency objectives and client requirements. A digital mindset is key as well as the ability to support integrated strategies.

SALARY

Up to £46,000 + benefits, dependent on experience
